We all know to have the best-looking skin requires using all-natural products, drinking lots of water and enjoying clean foods. In this blog, I want to share with you all one of my many ways I care for my skin through the things I put in my body!
Making smoothies is one of the easiest and fun ways I like to ensure my body gets the nutrition it needs. I like to add different root herbs, fruits and veggies and even nuts sometimes. I recently found out that pistachios have tons of health benefits for the body, so I make sure to incorporate those a lot. Those and my chia seeds for fiber and to "thicken" my smoothies.
Your skin shows YOU what you eat!
It really does. Processed sugar, heavy fatty foods, low water intake and grease shows through your face! I know for me personally when I enjoy things like cookies, or those Little Debbie snack cakes my dad always brings my children; it shows up in my face heavy the next day! I'm talking breakouts all over my lower chin and cheek area.
Now I'm not here to dictate to you what your grown self should be doing. But I will say we all know if we cut out a lot of the trash we consume in our diets, and fuel it with earth grown ingredients, our body will run optimally, and our skin will glow brighter and be free of acne!
Depending on the smoothie and how creamy I want it to be, or the type of ingredients I'm using, I'll use water or almond milk. I've tried pea protein milk and oat milk as well. However, I like oat milk better with my latte's and I dropped the pea protein milk due to the "gums" that were mixed in. You can create your own smoothie with whatever you see fit. Just make sure it's not filled with a bunch of sugars. Make sure they are adding to you, not taking away.
Along with creating my smoothies, I like to eat clean as well. On Sundays or Mondays, I like to create my salad for the week. I do this by taking spinach or arugula salad, cutting up colorful bell peppers, onions, tomatoes and adding cranberries, walnuts and almonds; then adding my favorite, French Honey dressing. Now this is probably not the healthiest dressing choice but come on it's good! Lol. And in my opinion, better than Ranch dressing.
And healthier too.
Argue with your motha' lol! KeKe Palmer voice.
In conclusion, the fact of the matter is, be cognizant of the food choices you make along with the products you to choose to ensure great looking skin. As well as lifestyle habits like smoking, drinking alcohol, getting enough rest, etc... All these add or take away to your skin and overall body.
